This randomized trial evaluates the efficacy of HOPE in liver transplants from DCD donors. The study aimed to reduce the risk of non-anastomotic biliary strictures. A total of 160 patients participated, with 78 receiving machine-perfused livers and 78 receiving livers preserved through static cold storage (SCS). The trial showed that HOPE significantly reduced the incidence of biliary strictures and post-reperfusion syndrome, along with improving early graft function.
