A smartphone app designed to draw the interest of younger people was developed by the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) with funding from a Bridge to Life grant. The app, named “Bridge2Life”, attempts to meet the challenge of growing the donation registry in an age when younger people no longer obtain driver’s licenses so readily and tend to consult social media for information about life’s issues. The app has been widely applauded in its nation-wide tour promoting Growing the Registry, most recently by winning the AATB Groundbreaker Award in Dallas, Oct 12.

Congratulations all around to CEO Julie Bergin, Director of Community Outreach Shelley Snyder, and Community Educator Crysta McGee for their vision and execution and for introducing organ donation to a much wider audience.
